New or Recent Veterinarian – Macleay Valley Veterinary Services

Exciting opportunity to join our well-established and progressive mixed animal veterinary clinic

Full time veterinarian required in a supportive team in a stunning location

Dedicated CE, perks and benefits from our industry leading organisation

One of our hatchling vets is ready to leave the nest and is taking off to spread her wings on a “lap of the map” for 12 months which opens up an exciting opportunity for a new hatchling (or fully feathered vet) to join our team.

We are a well-established and progressive mixed practice veterinary clinic offering general veterinary services for patients along the Macleay Valley Coast from South West Rocks in the north to Crescent Head in the south. We offer everything from companion animal care to cattle herd health and full range of equine services.

Our clinic is located in the beautiful Macleay valley region in NSW and offers a laid-back coastal lifestyle. If you like outdoor activities there are plenty of options including surfing our premier beaches, water-skiing, fishing and kayaking on the beautiful Macleay River; hiking the coastal and riverside walks, mountain biking the cross-country trails in the Kalateenee state forest mountain bike park and scuba diving the world famous fish rock cave to name a few!

Macleay Valley Veterinary Services is one of the expanding Apiam Animal Health group of regional and rural clinics that are committed to enriching the lives of animals, people, and communities. We strive to deliver excellence and our vision is healthy animals and happy people.

  • Our case load is approx. 60% small animal, 20% equine, 20% livestock
  • Full time position worked as a four-day week
  • After hours requirements are one night per week and one in six weekends
  • Team dynamic is very supportive with wide skill set amongst the existing vets

We are looking for positive individuals who are capable of working efficiently and conscientiously within a team environment. Our team is very supportive and enjoy learning from each other. We generally work together to manage our cases as a veterinary team rather than 8 individuals working alone on individual cases. With a large practice, communication amongst team members and with clients is a must, we want “people-people” as we strive to excel in client interactions and client communication.

We have a tight family feel to our clinic and we want that to stay as we all love coming to work, our clients often comment about how much fun it always sounds like we are having. We firmly believe skills can be taught, but personality can’t and we employ staff based on personalities and suitability to our workplace rather than on skills or marks, the successful applicants will immediately fit in and feel at home in our happy workplace.

Success in a small town requires people who want to be involved in the community; all the vets who love it here (and those that have stayed for good) are actively involved in either cricket, surf club, netball, soccer, rugby, mountain biking, surfing, etc, outside of work and that is what we are looking for in new staff
